lynchburg
our initial plan was to go hiking (when i say 'our' i mean me, my two sisters, and my parents) but it started raining really hard before we got to the trail, so we decided to go to lynchburg instead.
it's not the most exciting town in the world, but the architecture is beautiful. there were so many old buildings that i wanted to photograph, but i only had time to snap a few shots at each place we stopped because we were in a hurry. to do what, i don't know.
i love billboards, especially for Coca-Cola.
the Anne Spencer house. she was the first Virginian to be published in the Norton Anthology of Poetry.
typical photograph of a rose.
isn't that sinister?
a lovely bridge.
basically, we just walked around and ate the snacks we packed for the car, which consisted of a lot of junk food including chex mix, chocolate-chip cookies, and goldfish crackers. and then we went back home, and me and my sisters helped make a batch of 2,000 gnocchi (delicious potato noodles) for a fundraiser one of our friends were having. i'm still dreaming of potatoes.
on a side note, i just signed up for nanowrimo, which is this challenge where you write a 50,000 word novel in one month (during November). i'm excited, and i have a lot of ideas for my story. i hope i can do it! you should sign up, too, and join the fun!

I've often thought that all the old abandoned warehouses in Lynchburg would be a veritable photographer's playground. Unfortunately, every time I've been in that area, I've been on the military's time. In fact, I run over that bridge every time we do our physical fitness test... lol. Lovely pics though...
